My daughter and I were out in Los Angeles for a few days last month. Very crowded, lots of traffic. Would go again but do it differently.

Have a family reunion in Buffalo in July. Going to stop in Pittsburgh for a couple days on the way to it just because. 

My travels to LA have mostly been work related.  There are beautiful aspects to the area, but I just can’t warm up to it.  Getting around is horrible, everything good is so spread out and the people vibe is very weird.

We're trying to figure out a vacation for June. We currently have a (refundable) reservation in Siesta Key, FL. Has anyone been? Is it worth going?

Anyone else have any planned vacations already?

Siesta Key and Captiva are beautiful places.  Very laid back and family friendly in the sense that there aren’t drunken 23 year olds everywhere.  Great beaches, awesome restaurants and relatively quiet.

Biden was elected to the US Senate in 1972 the same year I was born.  He feels the need to project hardships.  Trump on the other hand is confused by his recolction of  watching "Gods and Generals" Longstreet did not want to fight uphill and Picket fell off his horse and got back up wondering what happened to "his boys" and Lee failed. 

He kind of had Robert E. Lee confused with an Irish pirate “Don’t fight uphill me boys.”

If I were managing Trump, I would strongly encourage him to stay away from historical subjects or most world events.  His knowledge of both is about as deep as a puddle.

Biden spending a lifetime chasing power in DC and going for this blue collar up-from-the-people thing is pathetic.  He should be working on a 50 piece puzzle in the day room.

Good rule of thumb, don't purposefully miss characterize what people say to fit what you want them to, and they won't sound condescending afterwards in their reply back to you.

Or don’t say “be better” anymore.

This fucking line: “Is there a good name for that order?”

What is wrong with “May I get your name?”  Or, hell, even “your name?”

ME: I’ll have two tacos and a burrito.

CASHIER: Is there a good name for that order?

ME: Yeah. How about “Two Tacos and a Burrito”.

Anyone with a 4th grade reading comprehension level can see that I didn’t say what ptown said I “believed” so did he purposefully miss characterize what I said or not?

This just makes me wonder why people are on Social Media to begin with. I got sucked into Twitter for a class assignment in 2009 and I havent been able to quit. But I deleted FB about 10 years ago and I have never signed up for TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. Feels like I am one of the few who have dodged all the bullets of misery that come along with it.

I'd add Linkedin to your list.  I know you've kind of "got to" have it in this day-in-age, but I find it miserable.  I try to stay off of it, but one in awhile I start scrolling.  What a horrible and fake place it is.

Yeah that's the stuff I'm talking about. I'm in a group chat with folks that are beer snobs. They always go to random bars and send a picture of the menu and then discuss whatever beer they got. I guess it's cool they have common interests, but I think they sound like dipshits when they describe the "overtones".

And remember that probably all of them are primarily interested in the buzz, everything else is window dressing.

I don't know if I agree with that.  Trump is an unpredictable loose cannon that seems to enjoy insulting our allies.  I think that's the real reason the "deep state" worked so hard to obstruct and impeach Trump.

I really think all the people Trump hired to be his advisors that think he's dangerous shouldn't be dismissed.  Remember, Trump hires the best people!

Between Russia, Palestine and Iran I'm honestly more than a little concerned about Trump making those decisions.  And even if you believe Trump is better than Biden on foreign policy, you still have to acknowledge that the inevitable resistance movement from the left is going to undermine his effectiveness, perhaps dangerously so.

Good points.  Biden doesn’t seem to have a foreign policy except to unquestioning support Israel and show “concern” about China.  Trump’s dangerous for his knob polishing of Putin and a Sarah Palin-like understanding of world history and geopolitics.
